Out came the winter coat...

I got my winter coat out for the first time yesterday, the weather has changed and the winter chill was in the air. My little fur trimmed winter wonder from NYC bought last November, warmed my body through! Although a little heavy to wear, the 1940s style I do love! Thinking back to my trip last year, Brooklyn Flea Market was such a good find. So many amazing items on sale there, I really wish there was some outdoor haunts like this over in the UK... I have yet to find these. Not only did the winter coat come out, but also a pair of new winter boots! A little shopping trip into town so me come face-to-face with a cute pair of ankle leathers from Clarks. I felt buying them now would mean I was to get my monies worth throughout the wintery days ahead.
I am now on the hunt for a new washing machine...

I had such a great time this Friday & Saturday at the Manchester Vintage Fashion Market. The feedback I received for CC Globe was brilliant. This was the first time I had shown the pieces and they went down a storm. Thankfully the sun stayed for the two days and customers came too. All the items I hand pick on my world travels are pieces that I really believe in and love, passing a vintage treasure on to the next person is such a great feeling. My little stall really stood tall against the others too and my three models all shone in their pretty dresses. I am really looking forward to the next market that is on November 18th & 19th, CC Globe will once again be there, with some more lovely one off pieces.Thank you to everyone who purchased from me, or came down and showed your support, it's very much appreciated.

Thanks! CC

Liberty Scarves

I am a huge fan of scarves, printed pretty ones in particular. I have some lovely ones for sale, plus two very special Liberty of London Vintage Silk ones too that I found during a recent trip. They really do brighton up an outfit, and so versatile too. After doing some research I came across this little video for some lovely hand drawn scarves that Liberty currently stocks...

Head to Hedonist

Finding a good hairdresser is hard. Someone that understands your hair, what suits your face and that you feel comfortable chatting with can be difficult. However, I have been going to Hedonist in Manchester's NQ and the service you receive is brilliant. The interior of the store is lovely too, lots of calming wood and little birds decorate the area, the music is pretty chilled and the products they use are top quality. Michelle the owner totally appreciates how fine and wispy my hair is, yet she styles it so it doesn't quite feel like baby hair so much! I would definitely recommend going there, the staff are friendly and welcoming and I always leave happy!

Market Day

All week the rain has poured, the Manchester clouds have been full of rain drops, covering the city. However, the sunshine is now shining, the clouds are almost white in colour and the sky is blue. I feel blessed, as tomorrow, CC Globe launches at the OUTDOOR Manchester Vintage Fashion Market and I think we may just miss the rain!
I am sorry to blog about the weather, but this week I have been watching the updates non.stop. So fingers crossed the sunshine continues and the Manchester skies do shine for my little stall!

Selfridges New Beauty Hall: Manchester

I am so excited about the new Beauty Hall in Selfridges Manchester! The basement has recently re-opened with lots of new brands and products that I cannot wait to get my hands on. A huge fan of Jo Malone, they have opened their second branch in Manchester and you can get a complimentary hand and arm massage with their new delicious fragrance Wild Bluebell. Other brands include Tom Ford Beauty, Suqqu, Illamsaqua and many more. The floor also has a jewellery area and I think there are talks of a Patisserie too... Perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon I think!

Nice looks

Two looks spotted and loved this week...

CC Globe on facebook

I have set up a facebook page for CC Globe. Feel free to post anything on there; nice pics, vintage finds, cool shops. I want it to be a place where we can all share our exciting discoveries, no matter what shape or form! Here is the direct link

My new models

I was so happy to receive a call off my close friend, just in the nick of time as I was about to spend money on mannequins. Starting out on a market stall is proving costly and my little weekly wage does not stretch far! So when I got the call saying three lovely models were about to be dumped on the doorsteps of the bin men, I jumped at the chance of cleaning them up and using them for my Manchester Market. What can I say, they are very well behaved, don't question any of the outfits I put them in, and don't mind being taken to pieces and stored in my car-boot!

I am really looking forward to Friday and Saturday this week at the Vintage Fashion Fair in Piccadilly. I have been working frantically away since I returned from HK, cleaning, hanging, pricing, merchandising and labeling, I just hope the weather doesn't ruin all my hard work...

At the moment none of the new items are online, so this will be the preview of the lovely new blouses, also have some great polka-dot printed trousers and cute Chanel-style jackets. Once I have some free time I will start listing some items on my eBay and Etsy accounts too.

Anyway, here are my ladies!

a colourful piece of glass

My sister received a birthday present,
A great idea it was,
To have a piece of glass cut,
And coloured just how she loved.

After a trip to choose the style,
And another to pick her colour,
One month did pass,
The deed was done,
And Naomi had her stained glass.

Thank you Delia at Apollo Stained Glass, it's delightful!

PS my Autumn look

As we see a change in the skies and autumn 2011 is upon us,
I have chosen this as my winning autumnal look.
The charcoal blouse buttoned right to the top, layered up with a rusty coloured cardigan, little black belt, patent brogues, polka-dot pencil trousers all finished off with a neutral rain mac, perfect for life under the grey northern sky.
Although quite masculine in style, the look still has a geeky-girl feminine appeal to it.

Thank you Paul Smith this range I love!

My Vintage Air Orient

My travels will be taking me back to Asia soon, as I go off in search of some more vintage treasures. Scouring the old villages, tiny shops and eclectic markets, I intend to bring back some little gems, perfect for the final months of 2011. As I look over my declining CC Vintage stock, I intend to return from the far away lands with delicate silk blouses, pretty-printed vintage dresses and unique accessories, all sourced from Hong Kong, Tokyo and Indonesia.

From October I will then be securing my places on the vintage fashion markets across the UK, where you can purchase directly from me.
