Favorite female artists 2010

As the end of 2010 arrives I have been thinking back to what music has taken up the most air play on my ipod. This year seems to have been taken over by female artists,
with a real mix of sounds and styles.
Here is a list of my favorites from the year...

1. Kelly B
2. Rihanna
3. Robyn
4. Laura Marling
5. Lissie
6. Lykke Li
7. Ellie Goulding
8. Warpaint

Christmas colours!

As I have been UK based this year for Christmas, I have enjoyed the run up to the 25th, shopping with my mum, scouring Christmas fairs and finding some cool stuff online.
It's really not that far away now, so here are some lovely little festive pics I found, that I love!
Happy holidays everybody

I have had sometime away from Ebay recently, focusing on Christmas fairs instead. However, after the snow took over my road to London I decided to pop some of my festive finds on yellow_polkadots.
Hope you like them! I do!
I think they're fun, festive and snuggly warm... all you need for your winter wardrobe.

It's a fur thing

As the snow fills our skies and the weather turns bitter cold, I welcome this with new winter coats, fur capes, snow boots and thick wooly knee high socks.
I love my winter wardrobe, choosing your outfit that will keep you warm throughout the day.
Today I invested in a pair of fur trimmed snow boots, thermals and bed socks!
Your winter outfit need not be drab and weary, it can be glamourous and fun! Here are some images that I like, fur filled outfits that show the season well!

Christmas Shop

Today I was in Ikea and they have their very own little Christmas shop! This made me smile. I spent sometime in here looking at everything and getting all excited for Christmas which is now only 30 days away.
I decided to buy some Santa wrapping paper, Christmas soaps and some ribbon! Yah x

Limit to your love

Sunday morning song, sat alone in an empty office...
I love this song. Can't decide which version is my fav.
Love Feist's vocals and the instruments used, but enjoying James Blake's stripped back vibrating version too.
Both definitely worth a listen, but visually James' is worth a watch.
Enjoy.

Christmas shopping

I was told "Christmas is 37 days away" today, it is slowly creeping up on us. This year I think I might be buying a lot of my presents from Etsy. There are such lovely things on there. I have just come across this little soap gift set which is a cutey! I would be happy with anything from this online shop. I love buying presents for others. Last year I was in Hong Kong, this year I will be in cold grey northern England and I am looking forward to it! Ho ho ho! x

Vintage beauties from JAPAN

I have found some amazing vintage Casio watches on ebay. Similar to the ladies gold ones that nearly everyone owns from Urban Outfitters, these look to be the real thing all the way from Japan. Super colours, pretty little faces, completely retro, I am loving all of them. Each one has something special about it, I can't choose my favourite...

You can check out the shop here

It's a beauty

I am pleased to hear the news about Prince William and Kate Middleton and looking forward to seeing her wedding dress next year. The dress is important you want to feel just right.
I wonder who will be the designer for Kate's dress?
Prince William has given Kate his mother's engagement ring, it's so beautiful, I think Kate's outfit in the picture below is simply lovely teamed with this ring. I hope they'll be very happy. As happy as me!

Mad Men

I have been watching Mad Men for the last few weeks having being bought the first series. After hearing so much about it, I decided to try it for myself. It wasn't exactly what I expected initially, but now, after around 8/9 episodes I have fallen for it! I love it! Each episode has been peeling back the layers of the individual characters and all the finer details that are portrayed on screen make this a must see program. I encourage anyone to watch it as I think everyone could really get something from it.
My favourite character is Betty Draper, although she may have been slightly tedious to watch at first, I am now being entertained by her characters mind as it develops into its own.
The costumes, setting, cars and colours make it visually appealing to me too. The glamour of the 60s, even the nightwear with heels... Love it!

Standard.

Our one year wedding anniversary was spent at The Standard Hotel. I recommend anyone visiting New York to pass by this hotel as it has outstanding views of both the Hudson River and Manhattan Island. Floor to celling windows, original deco and peekaboo bathrooms made this a lovely stay. The rooftop nightclub and bar meant that we could party into the night while witnessing the twinkling New York skyline too. Perfect!

F.O.O.D. NYC Style

I know people go on and on about food in America, but seriously the portions are huge. Gigantic in fact, food for giants! Let's just say I bet my weight has increased since being there! I am not ashamed to say, I LOVE FOOD. Cooking, eating, smelling... I enjoy the fun and chat that surrounds it. NYC had so much food to offer us, deciding where we wanted to eat each day was difficult as everywhere looked good. I have a real love for diners too, I want my own one day! We managed to squeeze in two diner trips and one take-out, plus cheesecake in Little Italy, french toast in Manhattan, Shanghai dumplings in China Town, world class pizza in Brooklyn, cob salad and meatloaf in Soho, anniversary breakfast room service (blueberry butter-milk pancakes), Bill's for delicious burgers and chili, fresh coriander grilled tuna @ Aspen Social Club and a few stop offs at hot-dog stands along the way. It's New York, that's what you do!
