Vintage beauties from JAPAN

I have found some amazing vintage Casio watches on ebay. Similar to the ladies gold ones that nearly everyone owns from Urban Outfitters, these look to be the real thing all the way from Japan. Super colours, pretty little faces, completely retro, I am loving all of them. Each one has something special about it, I can't choose my favourite...

It's a beauty

I am pleased to hear the news about Prince William and Kate Middleton and looking forward to seeing her wedding dress next year. The dress is important you want to feel just right.
I wonder who will be the designer for Kate's dress?
Prince William has given Kate his mother's engagement ring, it's so beautiful, I think Kate's outfit in the picture below is simply lovely teamed with this ring. I hope they'll be very happy. As happy as me!

Mad Men

I have been watching Mad Men for the last few weeks having being bought the first series. After hearing so much about it, I decided to try it for myself. It wasn't exactly what I expected initially, but now, after around 8/9 episodes I have fallen for it! I love it! Each episode has been peeling back the layers of the individual characters and all the finer details that are portrayed on screen make this a must see program. I encourage anyone to watch it as I think everyone could really get something from it.
My favourite character is Betty Draper, although she may have been slightly tedious to watch at first, I am now being entertained by her characters mind as it develops into its own.
The costumes, setting, cars and colours make it visually appealing to me too. The glamour of the 60s, even the nightwear with heels... Love it!

Standard.

Our one year wedding anniversary was spent at The Standard Hotel. I recommend anyone visiting New York to pass by this hotel as it has outstanding views of both the Hudson River and Manhattan Island. Floor to celling windows, original deco and peekaboo bathrooms made this a lovely stay. The rooftop nightclub and bar meant that we could party into the night while witnessing the twinkling New York skyline too. Perfect!

F.O.O.D. NYC Style

I know people go on and on about food in America, but seriously the portions are huge. Gigantic in fact, food for giants! Let's just say I bet my weight has increased since being there! I am not ashamed to say, I LOVE FOOD. Cooking, eating, smelling... I enjoy the fun and chat that surrounds it. NYC had so much food to offer us, deciding where we wanted to eat each day was difficult as everywhere looked good. I have a real love for diners too, I want my own one day! We managed to squeeze in two diner trips and one take-out, plus cheesecake in Little Italy, french toast in Manhattan, Shanghai dumplings in China Town, world class pizza in Brooklyn, cob salad and meatloaf in Soho, anniversary breakfast room service (blueberry butter-milk pancakes), Bill's for delicious burgers and chili, fresh coriander grilled tuna @ Aspen Social Club and a few stop offs at hot-dog stands along the way. It's New York, that's what you do!

Hells Kitchen Flea Market NYC

Those New Yorkers really know how to do it! During our visit we went by three FM in total. All of which were phenomenal! I guess the UK equivalent would be our Sunday morning car-boot sales, yet these markets were full of amazing items, racks and racks of real vintage clothes, costume jewellery, artwork, second hand vintage designer pieces, trinkets galore! It was never ending. I could have bought so much but had to think how I would get it all back over here, therefore we picked up an original 1950s vintage Samsonite tan leather case and also a larger 1960s suitcase, which unfortunately got damaged when checked in on our return. We filled our new cases with an amazing chestnut brown fur cape, an 1940s fur trimmed coat (which I love to pieces and feel lovely in everytime I put it on), quirky little wool jumpers for winter to keep me warm, a longer length floral peasant dress, and other bits and bobs too including vintage toys and silver jewellery.

With the stunning NYC back drop, the buildings surrounding all the little flea spots and the sunshine shining down on you, Hells Kitchen is my favorite market to date.

Here is a link for more info on the flea market on west 39th street.

Also a link to their blog Flea Speech!

And one more link full of flickr snaps that give you more of an idea.

CC Silk

The items I choose to sell I love.
Each piece I find has something special about it, traveled from a place far away.
The cloth has at some point belonged to someone else.
I am giving the item the chance to be adorned by another individual.
To grace the skin of the next person.
To be worn
To be loved, again.
Enjoy.

My Husband

Begin.
Today my blog post is dedicated to my Husband. It is his birthday. He is 5978.18 miles away from me at the moment. He is scheduled to return on October 24th. This is now standing in our way. I am staying positive. My Husband is pretty god dam special. We married and then ran away together. This is the first time we have been apart, ever.

So, let's all raise a glass to CC's Husband. Let him know that he is missed so much and that CC is working hard and building the empire while he is away.
Happy Birthday to you.

End.

Camel has got me

Usually my love for bright bold prints wins over anything... however, this winter the camel shades will be definitely cropping up in my winter wardrobe. I love this look, simple, toned down and finished off with shiny gold shoes. Nice.
