I stumbled across this lovely jewellery website recently and I loved it! stella & dot comes from America but the team travel the globe to find some of the most precious and rare jewels. With no stand alone shops, you can buy online, at one of their pop-up shops. I was really taken with the ideas and concepts behind the pieces. Definitely worth taking a look if wanting a statement piece of jewellery, thats that little bit different and not too expensive.
This Saturday come along to the Soup Kitchen on Spear St, Northern Quarter. It's going to be packed full of amazing stalls, Christmas deco, food, drinks and music. CC Vintage Globe has some lovely pieces, do not miss it! Vintage fur, cute blouses and stunning dresses, come and see us.
I love to watch birds flying around the sky, following each other, going round and round and round, getting nowhere fast, not so dissimilar to humans...
Ok, I know we are only in mid-November, however, the Christmas Markets in Manchester City Centre start THIS WEEKEND! They add such a festive spirit to the city, mulled wine a plenty! Also this weekend I will be returning to Piccadilly Gardens Vintage Fashion Market, this is my favourite spot as I get to see my regular customers and all the crazy characters that are often meandering around the area... I have my lovely hand picked vintage fashions for sale, plus some new items and some lovely little Christmas gift ideas too. V excited about seeing you all there.
I am pleased to say that I have also got a stall on December 10th, at the Soup Kitchens first ever Christmas Market. All the stalls will be super special as they have gone through a selection process to get the cream-of-the-crop there for the day. My friend who also has a stall is selling some amazing mohair winter scarves, all handmade at very reasonable prices, perfect xmas gifts. With DJs, drinks, stalls and food... what more could you ask for? It's still a while away, make sure you save some pennies for then too!
CC Globe items are all hand picked in Hong Kong, Japan, China and far east Asia. The floaty luxurious fabrics, unique prints & patterns and excellent tailoring provide you with an exotic piece of fashion. We firmly believe in these styles and how special they are. I found this article online which captures the essence of CC Globe and the up and coming months ahead for our little one off vintage range...
"Emerging in autumn / fall 2011 and lasting into next year, the Oriental fashion trend is a subtle interpretation of the imagined Orient – perhaps not the Orient that you’d commonly encounter on the streets in the modern world, but the Orient of old. Follow the link for styling inspiration." Tania Braukämper.
I am excited to be organizing a photo-shoot this Sunday with a lovely new model for CC Vintage Globe. I had currently been doing the photos myself, styling, clicking and modeling, however, it's time for change! So this Sunday will see a new set up, let the shoot commence!
During a brief trip to Tesco to buy bleach and other cleaning products, I decided to stop by the magazine section and treat myself to the latest Grazia & Vogue (a free couple of hours to research the seasons style must haves)... however, I ended up leaving with a copy of InStyle and Glamour! Not usually my choice of magazine, but the freebies on the front grabbed my eye! In need of a new hand cream InStyle is giving away a lovely Cowshed cow pat moisturising cream where as Glamour treats us to a nails inc. varnish, I chose the on trend berry colour, but there are another three to choose from. My hands will be both super soft and colourful within the next hour...
Recently my husband started playing guitar for his talented friend Jake Mattison. They have now set off, plus four other members, to Scotland to play at a couple of gigs, supporting Emeli Sande, returning back to Manchester this Thursday. A gig is taking place at the Deaf Institute the night they return! I am really looking forward to seeing them play, especially my husband! Jake's songs have totally grown on me over the last few weeks and seeing them played live will be a real memorable occasion. If you are a fan of Bob Dylan, but with a more bluesy feel, then I think you will enjoy this gig. PS, look out for the outfit worn by Kelly (female backing vocals), supplied by CC Vintage Globe, one little Peter Pan collared blouse, plus vintage fur cape... Nice!
Last night I heard this track and loved it! After a bit of online research, it seems you can download the track for free from the official website. That's nice!
Vocals reminding me slightly of Gwen Stefani, it's when the chorus kicks in I'm finding it hard not to do a bit of chair dancing...
