T-Street

Sitting in the window, staring out to see,
Witches with their potions being practised in the street.
Old school surroundings, an antique cash-till standing by,
Baked Spare ribs, the specialty one must try.
This place is such a favourite, CC one day shall return,
But for now music is calling, for which I do so yearn.

(In memory of Mido Cafe & Money Lounge; where the people know how to have a real good time, CC sings Neil Sedaka's classic "Oh Carol" and "Yesterday" with her GS)

Snowed in

Message from England: "We're snowed in, B say's until February maybe??"
No snow here, but a definite chill in the air.

28K

My favourite means of transport in Hong Kong "Public Lightbus" 16 seater
My favourite journey TP-ST
$8 fare
Doesn't get much better than this.

Chinese Lanterns everywhere

...and I love them. Look out of my window and the square is red and glowing. So pretty. I'm hopefully getting a camera for Christmas, then I can snap away and show just what I see.

***************************

Oh yes, 45 dollars to me, in my pocket. My first wages. Cardboard for cash. 15/12/09

Little picture I like

Oh baby it's cold outside

Condensation on the windows as opened the golden blinds today. Oh baby it's cold outside... Hong Kong winter is here, Christmas round the corner. The tights are on, the fur is ready! YES! x

WE ARE hunted

This is a good website, feel kind of cut off music wise over this side so this little find is treating our ears and keeping us on track. And it's music from around the globe so that's even better! The ones I liked; Fiery Furnaces, Taxi Taxi, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Vampire Weekend.

(Note: "Funny smells can come through your windows if get left open") GS

Application rolling almost.

We're on the road to nowhere...hey!

Bikes hired, off we go. 11 miles later our bums are sore.

Poor us, tired us.

Bikes back, home time, food time, bed time.

zzzzzzzzzzz

(Important day for CC tomorrow)

Mr and Mrs C go Central

GS and CC head into Hong Kong Island, Friday night, dressed accordingly, ready to see what the city that never sleeps has on offer...
Orange lucozade in one hand, caramel macchiato in the other. Right, grins on faces here they go for the 50 minute journey (also a ham and egg sandwich all courtesy of 7/11)

Made it. 9.pm. Places on the agenda to visit; Feather Boa, Cheri Cheri, Basement Bar, Club 71. All pretty close together, walking distance. It's humid, busy, quite touristy; Australians, English, they want to escape from the hustle and bustle and find...is there a NQ equivalent? A Common where Claire & Joe might be waiting?

CC's heels are high and so are the roads, escalator(s) seem like the better choice of transportation! Still no drink yet, their mouths are dry, their faces warm...where to go, where to go?

30 minutes later find a quiet little drinking portal 'Sapphire'; Chocolate Martini & Singapore Sling please. Ada the owner sends them on their way, in search of Fringe Club.

FClub is good/interesting, has potential. Roof garden is very very pretty, surrounded by little fairy lights, tiny light bulbs, encased in by the mass sky scraper buildings. Drinks; Sol & Pink Gin. Certainly not a place that goes by the rules of service with a smile. Unfortunately no Claire and Joe making an appearance tonight, no one really around to be friends with...they guess in time that might change. For now Mr and Mrs Cheung can tuck into their Fish & Chips and a tasty Double Burger, finish their drinks and head back to the mtr. Their peaceful little palace is waiting and seems even more enticing.

A good day

Discovered a place to get super chicken chow mein, right on my doorstep! Also, purchased some great lighting from another good shop - shop called Homeless. Overall a good day. Still raining a bit though. Realised that doing a food shop isn't so cheap; definitely Sainsbury's prices not Asda.
And been married a whole month now x

Sunday, December 6, 2009

Visiting hours are 5.45pm - 2.45am

HK had some more visitors 3rd December, and we had our first. It was fun fun. Delicious... and I ate Frogs legs. And they did taste like chicken! Dancing to some good music. Drinking Passionfruit Pleasures. Chatting some scary chat. Taxi home for $200.
Thanks Kimmy & Jens x

Mooi

searched high and low for mooi shop today, another nice little find and a nice area too. Tai Pei - definitely a place to go back to I think. A paper maps day indeed. www.mooishophk.blogspot.com
